PROJECT GERONIMO
December 2013
BUILT A COB AND ADOBE HOME IN GUATEMALA!
In early 2014, Soles de Piedra built an earthen house for a family in Guatemala for $6,000.
It was a beautiful success! There were volunteers there from five different countries, and the funds were donated by people from the US, France and Mexico. Check out the video HERE
Seven Fires Foundation partnered with cob building instructors David Gonzales and Pedro Pizzaro to complete the two-story Cob/Adobe home in Guatemala! Geronimo is a single father with five children who was living in a 10x10 "house". Dave and Pedro gathered a team of natural builders who volunteered to travel to Guatemala and build a new Cob addition to make this house a home.
Through outstanding fundraising, there were even able to add a second story to the project!
We are happy to report the main structure is complete. Not only does Geronimo and his family have a wonderful new home, but they have the skills to teach others how to do the same! Applying natural finishes is the next step if anyone wants to volunteer just let us know.
